Dear Members and Guests,
My name is Peter Mastromattei, and I'm honored to serve as President of CIBPA Windsor for the 2025/26 term. As we embark on this journey, I am committed to strengthening our organization's presence across Windsor-Essex as a beacon of community engagement, philanthropy, and proud celebration of our Italian heritage.
Since its beginnings in the mid-20th century, CIBPA has evolved into a nationwide network and a strong advocate for Italian-Canadian business and professional communities. Its continued success and growth are driven by our three foundational pillars.
Across its chapters, CIBPA has long upheld three foundational pillars:
- Business Networking
Early on, local chapters provided a place for Italian immigrants and professionals to exchange ideas, resources, and opportunities. Today, that mission continues: to connect members, spark collaborations, and build business relationships across sectors and regions.
- Philanthropy & Education
From its inception, CIBPA has been a charitable force—supporting immigrant settlement programs, disaster relief efforts (such as aid following the Po Valley flood), and launching community institutions. Chapters have often spearheaded or supported projects like immigrant aid societies, technical schools (COSTI), senior housing, and scholarship foundations. Here in Windsor, we echo that legacy: awarding scholarship funds each year, hosting charitable events, and partnering on community-impact initiatives.
- Italian Heritage & Cultural Identity
CIBPA was born of the desire to preserve and promote Italian culture within a Canadian context—nurturing pride in our roots, language, traditions, and civic contributions. Over the decades, chapters have sponsored cultural programming, festivals, networking ties with Italy, and projects amplifying Italian-Canadian influence in society.
With these pillars as our compass, I envision a Windsor chapter that both honors our heritage and leads with forward momentum. My goals include:
- Raising CIBPA Windsor as a household name in Windsor-Essex for positive community impact
- Expanding membership to engage new professionals, entrepreneurs, and young leaders
- Deepening our collaboration with other CIBPA chapters to strengthen national networks
- Ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and sustainability in all our initiatives
I invite you—whether long-time member, first-time guest, or community stakeholder—to join us in writing the next chapter of CIBPA Windsor. Together, we'll build bridges: between business and community, tradition and innovation, local and national.
Grazie, and I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely, Peter Mastromattei President, CIBPA Windsor
